Assam-Between May and July, around 1,880 people. mostly from Muslim communities in Gujarat and Assam were detained without proper legal procedures and forcibly sent to Bangladesh. Disturbingly, some of them reportedly had valid Indian documents but were still denied recognition as citizens.
