During India's Emergency period, censorship was brutally enforced. Newspapers had to submit their reports to government censors before publication.
Many chose silence. A few, like The Indian Express, left their editorial columns blank — a silent protest that spoke louder than words.

The Emergency reminds every media professional: Freedom of the press is precious, fragile, and must be defended every single day.
