When Telangana was formed in 2014, it was not just a new state—it was a symbol of hope, sacrifice, and the right to self-rule. The dream was clear: better irrigation, more jobs, justice for backward regions, and dignity for every citizen.

Now, more than a decade later, we must ask:

Is Telangana more developed now than before? Or have the dreams taken a new shape—or a new struggle?

🔍 Then vs. Now – A Glimpse

Before Formation (United AP)

• Telangana regions were often neglected in terms of irrigation, education, and employment.

• Large movements emerged against land acquisition, water sharing inequality, and lack of political voice.

After Formation (Post-2014)
✅ Major irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram were built.
✅ Hyderabad continued to grow as an IT and innovation hub.
✅ Welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Mission Bhagiratha, and KCR kits reached lakhs.
❌ But... rural unemployment remains a concern.
❌ Farmer suicides, lack of transparent job recruitment, and regional disparities still worry many.
❌ Many tribal and backward areas still lack basic infrastructure.

Some feel pride in the new identity and infrastructure growth. Others feel left out, waiting for the promises of justice and equality.

• Celebrate the achievements — but question the gaps.

• Demand accountability, not just celebration.

• Empower youth, farmers, and local communities to participate in planning, not just receive schemes.

• Protect press freedom and support grassroots journalism to highlight real issues.

Telangana was built on people’s voices. Its future depends on whether those voices are still heard.
