Adaptive Filters: Cleaning Audio for Public Broadcast

0
330

Modern audio forensics relies extensively on digital signal processing, rendering old analog filters obsolete. Today's newsrooms utilize discrete Fourier transforms and advanced frequency-selective filters to execute gating separation across different frequency bands. This helps forensic examiners isolate and remove highly specific types of hiss or mechanical noise.

The Bharat Media Association emphasizes that these digital filtering techniques are essential to decrease listener fatigue and ensure broadcasted investigative evidence is completely intelligible to the general public.
