The newly introduced Sahyog portal allows governments to send aggressive takedown requests to digital platforms, demanding total compliance within a mere three hours under the amended IT Act. This rapid-fire censorship mechanism aims to instantly erase critical public discourse before it gains traction. Independent digital platforms are fighting back against these draconian rules to keep vital information accessible.
Bharat Media Association strongly opposes these unconstitutional gag orders. The public has an absolute right to read, share, and debate governmental critiques without facing arbitrary, instantaneous digital erasure.
