Erasing the Truth: Mobs Targeting News Videographers

In conflict zones and riots across India, armed mobs have adopted a terrifying strategy: intentionally targeting news videographers to destroy recorded evidence of violence. Camerapersons are frequently surrounded, brutally beaten, and forced at gunpoint or knifepoint to delete their footage. This systematic sabotage aims to erase the visual truth of public unrest.

Bharat Media Association stresses that camerapersons are the crucial eyes of the public. Protecting their footage and physical safety is non-negotiable for preserving historical truth and ensuring perpetrators of organized violence are ultimately held accountable.
