The Maharashtra government has launched a pioneering AI training program for journalists to help them adapt to the fast-changing digital media landscape.

Developed in collaboration with top tech and media institutes, the initiative will train reporters in AI tools for research, fact-checking, content creation, and data analysis, while emphasizing ethical and responsible use of technology.

Officials said the program aims to build a future-ready, tech-savvy media community, ensuring that AI strengthens journalism rather than replaces it. Experts have hailed the move as a visionary step that could serve as a model for other states.
