In a decisive step to safeguard the integrity of journalism, Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a verified database of journalists across the Union Territory. The move aims to weed out fake reporters and unregistered media workers misusing the name of journalism for personal or political gain.
The administration’s focus is clear to protect ethical journalists who work with dedication and ensure that press freedom is not tainted by imposters. This initiative marks a turning point in restoring credibility, transparency, and trust in the media ecosystem of J&K.
“Journalism is not a shield for deceit it is a mirror of truth,” the L-G said, echoing a sentiment that resonates beyond borders.
