Participatory Propaganda: The Danger of Meme War

Meme warfare represents a highly unique threat because it relies heavily on participatory propaganda. Unlike traditional state media, memes feel organic, humorous, and culturally disposable. Political IT cells weaponize this by creating politically loaded pop-culture edits. When citizens share these memes for a laugh, they unwittingly become active participants in political warfare, amplifying targeted ideologies.
The Bharat Media Association urges media literacy campaigns to help citizens realize that sharing a seemingly harmless political meme often serves the agenda of well-funded, hidden digital syndicates.
