The relentless news cycle has created a perfect storm for newsroom burnout. Indian fact-checkers have continuously transitioned from verifying distressing images of the COVID-19 second wave to analyzing graphic communal riots and international conflicts. This unfiltered, daily exposure to suffering deeply impacts long-term wellbeing.

The Bharat Media Association calls for newsrooms to monitor this cumulative trauma. Editors must actively schedule recovery periods to ensure journalists are not destroyed by the endless cycle of global and regional tragedies.
