To combat digital censorship, innovative newsrooms are utilizing satellite datacasting to beam text-based articles directly to inexpensive, portable satellite receivers. This one-way continuous transmission cannot be easily blocked, traced, or throttled by local internet service providers.

The Bharat Media Association notes that this technology empowers citizens in heavily censored zones. By securely pulling encrypted news data straight from the sky, journalists ensure unhindered information access in the most digitally isolated regions of India.
