While urban journalists have established Press Clubs for solidarity and legal defense, mofussil reporters operate in total isolation. Without a unified local headquarters, district journalists are easily targeted and divided by local politicians and police superintendents.

The Bharat Media Association strongly advocates for state governments to subsidize officially recognized District Press Clubs. Providing rural reporters with a protected physical space is absolutely essential for fostering media solidarity, organizing legal defenses, and holding localized press conferences safely.
