Corridors of Power: Restricting Parliament Press Passes

0
28

Indian journalists are experiencing a severe, unprecedented restriction in access to the Parliament. Under new 2026 security protocols, the issuance of seasonal and central hall press passes has been drastically cut, heavily limiting the number of reporters allowed in the Press Gallery.

Denying media access to parliamentary corridors kills the vital tradition of informal political questioning, effectively shielding lawmakers from unscripted public accountability and reducing parliamentary reporting to state-sanctioned broadcast feeds.
