Frontline Dangers: Local News Crews Lacking Riot Gear

293

As street violence and protests become increasingly unpredictable, independent stringers and regional camera crews are frequently deployed into active conflict zones without any protective equipment. Lacking helmets, bulletproof vests, or basic riot gear, these visual journalists are left highly vulnerable to rubber bullets, tear gas canisters, and mob assaults.

Bharat Media Association demands that media conglomerates take full financial responsibility for their field staff. Providing certified protective gear to every cameraperson and field reporter is a fundamental ethical obligation, not a luxury reserved only for elite national correspondents.
