“పత్రికా ప్రతినిధులు ప్రమాదంలో”: DPDP నోటిఫికేషన్‌పై ఎడిటర్స్ గిల్డ్ తీవ్ర ప్రతిస్పందన

డిజిటల్ పర్సనల్ డేటా ప్రొటెక్షన్ (DPDP) నియమాలు జర్నలిస్టుల పనికి కావాల్సిన రక్షణలను కల్పించడం లేదని ఎడిటర్స్ గిల్డ్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేసింది.

పబ్లిక్ ఇంట్రెస్ట్ ఆధారంగా జర్నలిస్టులు సేకరించే డేటాకు మినహాయింపులు లేకపోవడం, డేటా వాడుకలో అస్పష్టత, మీడియాపై అమలయ్యే పరిమితులు ఇవన్నీ ప్రెస్ ఫ్రీడమ్‌కి ప్రమాదమని గిల్డ్ హెచ్చరించింది.

“ఈ నియమాలు అమలైతే విచారణాత్మక రిపోర్టింగ్ బలహీనమవుతుంది, ప్రజలకు సమాచారం అందించే హక్కు దెబ్బతింటుంది” అని గిల్డ్ స్పష్టం చేసింది. ప్రభుత్వం మీడియా స్వేచ్ఛను పరిగణలోకి తీసుకొని తక్షణ మార్పులు చేయాలని వారు కోరారు.
