The numbers may seem small, but behind every arrest lies a story of truth silenced and courage criminalized.
In January 2021 alone, five journalists were arrested  marking the highest number in any year since 1992. This is not just data; it’s a warning signal for democracy.

Journalists, whose only weapon is their pen, now find themselves behind bars for questioning power and exposing the uncomfortable. Each arrest sends a chilling message: that truth has become dangerous, and asking questions is now an act of risk.

But journalism has always thrived on courage  and courage cannot be contained.Because as long as there are voices willing to speak, no cell can confine the truth.
