Solutions Journalism (SoJo) actively combats this by investigating responses to social problems through four strict editorial pillars: a response to a problem, evidence that it works, insights into the mechanism, and a frank account of its limitations. By analyzing what actually works and admitting where a solution falls short, reporters provide actionable intelligence rather than just despair.
