Continuously reviewing distressing content for entire shifts or weeks is a guaranteed path to severe clinical depression and PTSD. To combat this, progressive newsrooms are implementing strict rotation systems for their verification teams.

The Bharat Media Association demands that media managers limit the length of graphic review sessions, scheduling them early in the day when the brain processes trauma more effectively. Fact-checkers must be routinely rotated into lower-stress reporting beats to allow their nervous systems to recover.
