Despite a rapidly growing influx of talented female reporters on the ground, Indian media leadership remains overwhelmingly male-dominated. Women journalists routinely face severe gender pay gaps, lack of adequate maternity support, and a rigid glass ceiling preventing them from reaching Editor-in-Chief roles in major legacy networks.
The Bharat Media Association strongly advocates for urgent corporate media reform. We demand equitable pay scales, stringent anti-harassment policies, and clear institutional pathways for female journalists to finally lead and reshape the editorial direction of the country.
