The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is urgently demanding a formal investigation into a vicious mob attack on two journalists in Jharkhand. Reporters Ashish Kumar and Sushant Kumar Soni were severely assaulted while attempting to question Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari regarding a recent air ambulance crash.

Alarmingly, reports indicate that local police officers were present at the scene but stood by without intervening to protect the media personnel. This shocking incident highlights severe safety risks for field reporters. Press advocates are now pressing authorities for immediate accountability and strict action against the perpetrators involved.
