CM–LG Standoff in Puducherry Ends with Temporary Truce
A power struggle erupted when Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan unilaterally appointed a Health Department director without consulting CM N. Rangaswamy, who holds the health portfolio. In protest, the CM and AINRC ministers boycotted their offices for three days. The confrontation highlighted deeper administrative friction between the LG and elected government.
