The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully rescued two foreign nationals—a citizen of the United States and another from Turkey—from a distressed American yacht named Sea Angel. The vessel was stranded approximately 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point, the southernmost tip of India, amid challenging sea conditions.

The yacht encountered a critical situation after losing propulsion due to a blown sail and tangled propeller. Upon receiving the distress call, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Port Blair swiftly coordinated the rescue operation. ICG teams reached the location promptly, and after securing the vessel, safely towed it back to Campbell Bay harbor, ensuring the crew's well-being.

This timely and efficient rescue highlights the ICG's unwavering commitment to maritime safety in the region.
