The Roots Of Journalism In Bihar Are Deeply Intertwined With The Region's Socio-Political Awakening During The British Colonial Era. One Of The Earliest And Most Significant Milestones In This Journey Was The Publication Of Bihar Bandhu In 1872. Launched By Keshav Ram Bhatta, A Maharashtrian Brahmin Who Had Settled In Biharsharif, Bihar Bandhu Holds The Distinction Of Being The First Hindi Newspaper Published In Bihar. This Publication Marked The Beginning Of Hindi Journalism In The Region, Aiming To Foster A Sense Of Regional Identity And Awareness Among The Local Populace.

Another pivotal figure in the evolution of journalism in Bihar was Dr. Sachchidanand Sinha. Born on November 10, 1871, in Ara, Dr. Sinha was not only an authority on constitutional law but also a pioneer of journalism in the early 20th century. He played an instrumental role in promoting and directing several newspapers, both weeklies and dailies. Notably, he was associated with publications such as The Indian People, Biharee, and The Searchlight. His most significant contribution was editing The Hindustan Review for nearly forty-five years, a periodical that became a cornerstone of intellectual and political discourse in Bihar
