"Book Raids in Kashmir Spark Free Speech Debate"
Srinagar, Jammu&Kashmir- Authorities in Srinagar conducted raids on several bookstores, seizing 25 books among them works by renowned author Arundhati Roy on the grounds that they allegedly promote “secessionist ideologies.”
The action has drawn widespread criticism from writers, activists, and free speech advocates, who view it as yet another attempt to stifle freedom of expression in the region.
