Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel Appointed New Chief Secretary of Manipur
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, a 1991-batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, as the new Chief Secretary of Manipur. His appointment, effective immediately, comes amid ongoing administrative efforts to restore peace and governance in the state. Goel will oversee coordination between central and state authorities, especially relevant given the current challenges around displacement and rehabilitation. State officials hope his experience will bring policy clarity and continuity under President’s Rule. His leadership is seen as pivotal for navigating Manipur’s current transition phase.
