The Goa government is set to enact the Goa Animal Breeding and Domestication Bill, 2025, targeting ownership and breeding of ferocious dog breeds. The legislation prohibits the import and domestic breeding of designated aggressive breeds, and lays down meaningful penalties for violations. It also mandates compensation for victims of animal attacks. The law underscores Goa’s intent to balance animal welfare with public safety.
