Ahead of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th, Delhi's Social Welfare Minister, Ravinder Indraj Singh, has urged all universities in the capital to actively participate in the state's drug prevention campaign.

In a letter to university vice-chancellors, the Minister stressed the crucial role of educational institutions in fostering a drug-free Delhi. He called for the immediate establishment of 'Nasha Mukti Clubs' (Drug-Free Clubs) on campuses and the official declaration of university premises as "Drug-Free Zones." This initiative aligns with the national 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA)', a Government of India campaign aimed at drug demand reduction.

The Minister also invited university students to a large-scale event organized by the state government at 9 am at the Yamuna Sports Complex on June 26th, anticipating wide participation from students, educators, and civil society members. He emphasized that a healthy, empowered, and drug-free Delhi requires strong public and institutional collaboration.
