Renowned Assamese Singer Gayatri Hazarika Passes Away at 44, Tributes Pour In

The Assamese music world is mourning the untimely demise of Gayatri Hazarika, a celebrated singer who passed away on Friday at the age of 44. She was undergoing treatment for colon cancer at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati, Assam.

Gayatri Hazarika was widely loved for her melodious voice and iconic songs such as ‘Xora Pate Pate Phagun Naame’, which brought her immense recognition. Her other popular tracks include ‘Tumi Kun Birohi Ananya’, ‘Jank Nasil Bonot’, and ‘Xeuji Xopon’. Her contribution to Assamese music made her a cherished figure across generations.
