Schools Reopen in Rajasthan’s Border Districts as Calm Returns

Jaipur / Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan):
With tensions easing along the India-Pakistan border, the district administrations of Sri Ganganagar, Jodhpur, and Bikaner have lifted restrictions and allowed the resumption of educational activities across the region. Schools, colleges, and other institutions reopened from May 13, marking a return to normalcy in the affected districts.

Educational Institutions Resume Operations

Following a precautionary closure amid recent military tensions, all schools, colleges, and coaching centers in the border districts have now been permitted to operate as usual. The Sri Ganganagar administration confirmed that:

“All types of educational institutions in the district will be able to conduct regular educational activities from May 13.”

Market Curfew Also Lifted

In addition to the reopening of schools, earlier curfews on commercial activities—including the order to shut markets from 7 PM to sunrise—have also been withdrawn with immediate effect. Authorities stated that the situation is being monitored closely, but no further blackout alerts or market closures are currently planned.

Advisory Issued for Residents

While normal life resumes, residents have been advised to remain vigilant as a safety measure. Officials emphasized that no new threats have emerged, but all stakeholders should continue to follow updates from the district administration and security agencies.

Background: The temporary closure of schools and markets in Rajasthan’s border districts was part of a broader precautionary protocol activated during the recent spike in tensions between India and Pakistan. With the situation stabilizing, the administration has prioritized restoring normal public life.
