NEW DELHI - Indian Olympic Association President and Rajya Sabha MP PT Usha expressed strong support for the National Sports Governance Bill during a session in Parliament today.

Usha stated that the proposed legislation would break years of stagnation in Indian sports administration and introduce clear, transparent governance practices. She emphasized that the bill aims to improve accountability, streamline decision-making, and create a more athlete-centric sports ecosystem.

According to Usha, reforms under the bill will also curb bureaucratic delays, encourage young talent, and ensure that sports bodies operate with higher standards of professionalism and fairness.

The bill is currently under discussion in the Rajya Sabha, with several members echoing the need for such reforms to enhance India’s sporting performance on the global stage.
