The Delhi government has introduced the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2025, making it easier for transgender people to get identity certificates online without any medical tests. It has also announced plans to set up a Transgender Welfare Board to support their rights and welfare. Activists have welcomed this move but say it's important that these rules are implemented properly and without delay.
