Delhi Court's Unique Punishment for Contempt

In an unusual move today, a Delhi court directed four accused persons to stand with their hands raised in the air for the entire day after finding them guilty of contempt of court. Judicial Magistrate Saurabh Goyal held them responsible for wasting court time in a 2018 complaint case. This decision underscores the judiciary's increasing impatience with delays and disruptions in court proceedings.
