After a five-year hiatus, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is slated to resume in June 2025, entering India through the Nathula Pass in Sikkim. Suspension was due to pandemic-related restrictions and border tensions. Authorities have strengthened infrastructure, safety protocols, and travel guidelines to ensure smooth transit for pilgrims. The resumption is expected to revive religious tourism, generating economic benefits for local communities along the route. Preparations include health checks, coordination with Chinese agencies, and local hospitality readiness.
