Following its success in the 2024–25 pilot phase, Karnataka is expanding the Ganitha Ganaka numeracy initiative across the state. Originally benefiting ~700,000 grade 3–5 students, the program offers personalized, after-school one-on-one tutoring via phone calls. The expanded rollout targets ~1.35 million students across primary and upper-primary government schools. The Department of State Educational Research & Training will train 75,000 teachers paid ₹800 each. Public-private partners like JPAL and Youth Impact will assist in execution. Early parent feedback praises improved engagement and learning outcomes. This scheme reflects Karnataka’s focus on closing foundational learning gaps.
