Supreme Court Eases Restrictions on Ashoka Professor, Criticizes Haryana SIT
The Supreme Court granted relief to Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad by easing bail conditions imposed in connection with the "Operation Sindoor" probe. The court also strongly criticized the Haryana Special Investigation Team (SIT) for exceeding its authority during the investigation. The verdict highlights the court’s concern over misuse of investigative powers and reinforces the importance of upholding individual rights during legal proceedings.
