As part of a statewide campaign launched on June 25, Rajasthan health teams have screened 44% of high-risk populations, identifying 2.3 lakh individuals with suspected tuberculosis symptoms so far. The campaign targets vulnerable groups—HIV/AIDS patients, diabetics, migrants, slum residents, miners and elderly—continuing through July 21. Suspected cases are being referred for confirmatory testing and free treatment. The initiative has helped declare over 3,350 panchayats TB-free in 2024. Around 35,000 Nikshay Mitras volunteers are supporting patients in remote areas. This public health drive aims to accelerate India’s TB elimination goals.
