On July 17, private schools across Hisar observed a shutdown in response to the shocking murder of Principal Jagbir Pannu, who was fatally stabbed by four students. The incident has sparked outrage among the education community. The Haryana Private School Association has demanded swift justice, the implementation of a School Safety Act, ₹1 crore compensation for the victim’s family, and a government job for one of his dependents. The tragedy has reignited concerns over the safety of educators in schools.
