Samsung Begins Production of Its Slimmest Phone Yet — The Galaxy S25 Edge — in India
Samsung, the renowned South Korean tech giant, has officially begun manufacturing its slimmest smartphone to date, the Galaxy S25 Edge, right here in India. The device made its global debut — including in Indian markets — on May 13, and production is now underway at Samsung's state-of-the-art facility in Noida.
According to a company spokesperson, the Galaxy S25 Edge is tailored for users who prioritize sleek design and portability without compromising on performance. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, built on Qualcomm’s latest AI chipset, and boasts cutting-edge Galaxy AI features. These include multimodal AI, allowing real-time interaction using both voice and vision — a game-changer for mobile communication.
Premium Power with Indian Roots
The Galaxy S25 Edge is priced between ₹1.09 lakh and ₹1.22 lakh, reflecting its premium capabilities and build. The decision to manufacture it in India underscores Samsung’s commitment to the country as a critical tech hub.
Industry expert Nikhil Chawla emphasized that this move reflects India's rising status on the global technology map — not just as a manufacturing powerhouse, but also as a center of innovation.
According to a recent report by Counterpoint Research, Samsung and Apple together were responsible for 94% of smartphones made in India in 2024. Samsung alone claimed a 20% share of the country’s total smartphone production volume.
Leading the Premium Segment
Samsung’s aggressive strategy has also translated into strong sales. In the March 2025 quarter, Samsung captured 17% of the Indian smartphone market, thanks in part to its diversified product lineup. The success of the Galaxy S25 Ultra series was a major contributor to this milestone, pushing Samsung to its highest-ever share in the premium smartphone segment.
A Touch of Style: Limited Edition Galaxy Ring
In addition to the S25 Edge, Samsung has introduced a limited-edition Galaxy Ring, revealed alongside the phone. This stylish variant features a Two-Tone Titanium Black design — a sleek blend of Titanium Black and Titanium Silver, offering users a fashionable new accessory to pair with their high-end device.
With the launch and local manufacturing of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung continues to reinforce its leadership in India’s smartphone landscape — combining innovation, performance, and style in one ultra-slim package.
